SUBJECT:

UNIMPLEMENTED GENERIC SAFETY ISSUES AT BROWNS FERRY, UNITS 1 l 2 AND 3 .

. On April 25, 1990, the staff issued Generic Letter 90 04 which requested infor-

! mation concerning the implementation status of certain generic safety issues i l

(GSIs) at your facility. Based on your response to this Generic Letter, dated l May 30, 1990, and our own records and discussions with your staff, we have updated our database on GSI implementation status. The results of this effort were presented to the Commission at a meeting on October 25, 1990.

l The enclosure to this letter summarizes the staff's understanding of the current l status of those GSIs which remain unimplemented at Browns Ferry, Units 1, 2 and 3.

We appreciate the assistance you provided in responding to Generic Letter 90 04. i and we encourage your timely completion of those GSIs listed in the enclosure. ,

Please contact me if you have any questions or comments about the enclosed information.

Sincerely, 9 .  % >

Th erry M. Ross, Pro ect Manager Project Directorate 11 4 i Division of Reactor Projects . I/II Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation
