I This is in reference to your response of January 15, 1988, to our Notice of

Violation issued on December 3, 1987, concerning activities conducted at your Browns Ferry facility.
In that letter you responded to three violations cited in Inspection Report Numbers 50-259/87-37, 50-260/87-37, and 50-296/87-37, You admitted te Violations B and C, and denied Violation A.
Subsequently, we examined the implementation of your corrective actions to the admitted violations.
Our inspection followup on these violations and their closure are

addressed in Inspection Report Numbers 50-259/88-10, 50-260/88-10, and 50-296/88-10, and 50-259/88-32, 50-260/88-32, and 50-296/88-32.
Violation A remained open pending further evaluation of your response.
Violation A dealt with an apparent inadequate procedure for volumetric flow calculation.
We have carefully examined your response and agree with your position.
It should be noted; however, that a commitment was made by you to change the value of the flow coefficient, C, in Browns Ferry Standard Practice 14.4 from 0.5 to 0.7.
Some problems with your procedure have been corrected in a new procedure, PMI-27.4, " Secondary Containment Penetration Breach Analysis", Revision 0, dated May 27, 1988.
Violation A has been deleted from our records.
