NRC APPENDIX R INSPECTION - BROWNS FERRY NUCLEAR PLANT, UNIT 2 The NRC will conduct the first part of the Appendix R inspection (Post-fire
'SafeShutdownSystems)duringtheweekofMay 1-5, 1989. The inspection report number for this inspection will be 89-13. The second part of the Appendix R inspection (Fire Protection Systems) is tentatively scheduled for July 17-21, 1989.
The inspection team will be composed of Messrs. Rex Wescott and James Watt of NRC and Messrs. Edward MacDougall and Rudy Hodor of Brookhaven National Laboratory. Mr. Wescott is the NRC inspection team leader.
We have scheduled an entrance interview for 9:00 a.m. on Monday, May 1, 1989 in the Plant Assembly room. The exit interview is tentatively scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Friday, May 5, 1989 in the same room.
The inspection team will be staying in trailer No. 12 and will conduct a daily progress meeting there with your staff at 4:30 p.m. each day starting on Tuesday.
