SUMMARY

OF OPERATING EXPERIENCE AUGUST 1981 Indian Point Unit 3 was synchronized to the bus for a total of 727.1 hours1.157407e-5 days <br />2.777778e-4 hours <br />1.653439e-6 weeks <br />3.805e-7 months <br />, producing a gross generation of 348,220 MWE for this reporting period.

The Uni _t experienced one trip on August 26, at 1341 hours0.0155 days <br />0.373 hours <br />0.00222 weeks <br />5.102505e-4 months <br />. The problem occurred while restoring the reactor trip breakers to a normal status at the completion of reactor protection system testing.

The cause was founa to be improperly supported cell switches associated with main reactor trip breaker "B".

A modification was performed to improve the support to the cell switches.

The unit was returned to service at 0635 hours0.00735 days <br />0.176 hours <br />0.00105 weeks <br />2.416175e-4 months <br /> on August 27
