OF TELEPHONE CONFERENCE CALL HELD ON JANUARY 11, 2011, BETWEEN THE U.S. NUCLEAR REGULATORY COMMISSION AND ENERGY NORTHWEST, CONCERNING THE REQUEST FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION PERTAINING TO THE COLUMBIA GENERATING STATION, LICENSE RENEWAL APPLICATION (TAC NUMBER ME3058) The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC or the staff) and representatives of Energy Northwest (the applicant), held a telephone conference call on January 11, 2011, to discuss and clarify the NRC's request for additional information (RAI) concerning the Columbia Generating Station, license renewal application.

Enclosure 1 provides a listing of the participants and Enclosure 2 contains a listing of the RAls discussed with the applicant, including a brief description on the status of the items. The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC or the staff) and representatives of Energy Northwest, held telephone conference calls on January 11, 2011, to discuss the following request for additional information (RAI) concerning the Columbia Generating Station (CGS) license renewal application (LRA). RAI4.2-1 The staff discussed the BWRVIP-74-A, "BWR Vessel and Internals Project, BWR Reactor Pressure Vessel Inspection and Flaw Evaluation Guidelines for License Renewal," equivalent margins analysis (EMA) data does not include ASME Code,Section II, SA-50B alloy steel or carbon steel. The applicant informed the staff that General Electric (GE) drafted a letter that includes SA-50B in the acceptance criteria.

The applicant also discussed that NEDO-32205-A is the basis document that includes SA-50B in the acceptance criteria.

The applicant further discussed providing projected calculations for upper shelf energy (USE) and adjusted reference temperature (ART) to N6 welds, N6 forgings, and N12 forging. The applicant discussed the N12 nozzle weld is austenitic material and does not require a projected calculation.

The applicant discussed providing this information in a response to the question.
