The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC or the staff) and representatives of Energy Northwest (the applicant), held a telephone conference call on May 6, 2011, to discuss and clarify the NRC's draft request for additional information (RAI) concerning the Columbia Generating Station, license renewal application.
Enclosure 1 provides a listing of the partiCipants and Enclosure 2 contains a listing of the RAls discussed with the applicant, including a brief description on the status of the items.
The applicant had an opportunity to comment on this summary.

TELEPHONE CONFERENCE CALL COLUMBIA GENERATING STATION LICENSE RENEWAL APPLICATIONS MAY 6,2011 The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC or the staff) and representatives of Energy Northwest, held a telephone conference call on May 6, 2011, to discuss the following draft request for additional information (RAI) concerning the Columbia Generating Station (CGS) license renewal application (LRA).
D-RAI B.2.1 0-2 is related to the BWR Vessellntemals Program, specifically, BWRVIP-25 action items.
Discussion:
The applicant discovered that there are no core plate wedges located around the periphery of the core plate within the shroud. The applicant submitted its LRA on January 19, 2010, and stated that Columbia had core plate wedges installed around the periphery of the core plate within the shroud. The applicant also discussed submitting a letter informing the staff about the deviation from BWRVIP-25 inspection requirements.
