OF TELEPHONE CONFERENCE CALL HELD ON AUGUST 17, 2007, BETWEEN THE U.S. NUCLEAR REGULATORY COMMISSION AND ENTERGY NUCLEAR OPERATIONS, INC., PERTAINING TO THE VERMONT YANKEE NUCLEAR POWER STATION LICENSE RENEWAL APPLICATION The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC or the staff) and representatives of Entergy Nuclear Operations, Inc. held a telephone conference call on August 17, 2007, to discuss the staff's position on the contents of the Vermont Yankee Nuclear Power Station license renewal application as it relates to the evaluation of time-limited aging analyses, in accordance with 10 CFR 54.21(c)(1).

Enclosure 1 provides a listing of the participants and Enclosure 2 contains a summary of the issue discussed with the applicant.

.REQUESTS FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION VERMONT YANKEE NUCLEAR POWER STATION LICENSE RENEWAL APPLICATION AUGUST 17, 2007 The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC or the staff) and representatives of Entergy Nuclear Operations, Inc. held a telephone conference call on August 17, 2007, to discuss the staff's position on the contents of the Vermont Yankee Nuclear Power Station license renewal application as it relates to the evaluation of time-limited aging analyses (TLAAs), in accordance with 10 CFR 54.21(c)(1).

Issue In the LRA, the applicant made commitments to perform evaluations of TLAAs two years prior to entering the period of extended operation.

The staff position is that what the analyses have to demonstrate has to be part of the LRA in order for the applicant to be in compliance with 10 CFR 54.21(c)(1).

Discussion:

The applicant indicated that the staff's position is clear. The applicant will address the issue in a formal letter to the NRC.4 Enclosure 2
