VERMONT YANKEE NUCLEAR POWER STATION - REQUEST FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION REGARDING THE LICENSE AMENDMENT REQUEST TO CHANGE THE PHYSICAL SECURITY PLAN TO REFLECT AN ISFSI-ONLY CONFIGURATION (EPID NO. L-2017-SPR-0025)

Dear Mr. Boyle:

By letter dated March 29, 2017, (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) Accession No. ML17172A460), Entergy Nuclear Operations, Inc. submitted the Vermont Yankee Independent Spent Fuel Storage Installation Physical Security Plan, Revision 0 for approval. The submittal was identified as safeguards and Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations (10 CFR) 2.390 information which was withheld from public disclosure. The request was supplemented by letters dated June 28, 2017 (ADAMS Accession No. ML17181A186) and September 14, 2017 (ADAMS Accession No. ML17261A210).

The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff is currently reviewing the submittals as a license amendment request. The NRC staff has determined that the additional information is needed to complete the review. Therefore, the NRC staff requests additional information as specified in the Enclosure. In order to continue the review of the subject license amendment request, please respond to this request for additional information within 30 days of the date of this letter.
