Dear Mr. O'Reilly:

ALL TVA NUCLEAR PLANTS - RESPONSE TO CONCERNS RAISED BY INSPECTION REPORT 50-438/82-11 AND 50-439/82-11 In R. C. Lewis' letter dated June 3, 1982, report numbers 50-438/82-11 and 50-439/82-11, concerns were raised over Licensee Identified Items for the Dellefonte Nuclear Plant. In the subject report, it was stated in part that (1) the majority of our final reports submitted on 10 CFR 50.55(e) items did not provide sufficient information, (2) the relevant data was not readily available at the site, (3) it could not be datermined whether some final reports had been submitted, and (4) the infonnatior was discussed with and requested from site personnel. If RII believes a final report on a 10 CFR 50.55(e) item is deficient, or wishes to see specific supplemental information in the future, please identify the additional information as early as possible to R. H. Shell at FTS 858-2688 for PWRs and J. A. Domer at FTS 858-2725 for BWRs. This will allow us to supplement the report and/or gather the necessary information from Knoxville and Chattanooga and ensure its availability at the plant site. TVA wants to fully support RII's inspection efforts at all our sites and believes following these established channels of communication will improve that support. These channels of communication were discussed with you and your staff in a meeting on February 27, 1981.

If you have any questions concerning this matter, please get in touch with R. H. Shell at FTS 858-2688.

Very truly yours, TENN SSEE VALLEY AUTHORITY
