BELLEFONTE NUCLEAR PLANT UNITS 1 AND' 2 - SUPPLEMENTAL RESPONSE TO VIOLATION 50-438/81-29-01, 50-439/81-29 INADEQUATE FIELD MODIFICATION OF LETDOWN COOLER SUPPORTS TVA's initial response to R. C. Lewis' letter dated December 8,1981, report numbers 50-438/81-29, 50-439/81-29 concerning activities at the Bellefonte Nuclear Plant which appeared to have been in violation of NRC regulations was submitted on January 21,~ 1982, with revised responses submitted on February 10 and June 18, 1982. This was followed by our supplemental responses on June 10 and December 7,1983 and June 6,1984.

Delow is our fourth supplemental response to the citation.

As discussed with NRC-0IE Inspector P. E. Fredrickson on October 31, 1984, the date of November 11, 1984 for completion of corrective actions indicated in our final report on this matter would not be met. Three of eight replacement bolts have been returned to B&W due to inadequate markings. The bolts will be installed upon receipt of acceptable replacements. The corrective action on this matter will be completed by February 22, 198 5.
