This transmits the findings of the routine NRC inspection of the Haddam Neck Plant
on March 7 - May 9, 1985. These findings have been discussed with Mr. R. Graves
of your staff.
No violations were identified during this inspection and no reply to this letter
is required.
Thank you for informing us of the corrrective and preventive actions documented
in your letter to NRC Region I dated March 18, 1985. Those actions pertained to
Inspection 84-32, which was forwarded to you by our letter dated February 11, 1985.
Based on discussions between Mr. P. Swetland and Mr. R. Graves, we understand that
additional measures are planned to improve the coordination and technical review
of submittals to NRC. These measures include the appointment of a single point
of contact at the site (with backup) to coordinate the accuracy and timeliness of
submittals, and provision of more time for both site and corporate review of draft
submittals. Please notify us promptly if our understanding of your further actions
is not correct.
