JOSEPH M. FARLEY NUCLEAR PLANT UNIT 1 NARRATIVE

SUMMARY

OF OPERATIONS JULY, 1983 During the month of July there were no unit shutdowns. On June 20, 1983, the IC steam generator power operated relief valve lifted due to spiking of.

the signal converter card. The valve was manually isolated and the faulty i card was replaced. On July 10, 1983, the 1C steam generator power operated relief valve lifted when a twenty-percent open position was demanded from the valve controller. The valve controller was placed in Manual and the valve closed. Subsequently, the loop controller-card was replaced.

The following safety-related maintenance was performed in the month of July:

1. Performed miscellaneous maintenance on diesel generators.
2. Cleaned out HHSI pump oil coolers.
3. Repacked #5 river water pump.
4. Repaired discharge check valve on IA MDAFW pump.
5. Repaired IB recycle evaporator feed pump.
6. Repaired weld on IB MDAFW pump recirculation line.
7. Repaired B train river water miniflow valve.
