i This letter constitutes a final report on the subject anchors.

On November 17, 1980, the Cincinnati Gas & Electric Company telephu '

Mr. Paul Barrett of the NRC, regarding a potential 10CFR50.55(e) condition i concerning 1" diameter wedge-type expansion anchors. 5 i Hilti Incorporated Fastening Systems decreased the recommended ultimrte 1 loads for 1" diameter anchors with embedded depth of 6D or greater, resulting in potentially under designed applications of these anchors. Hilti subsequently t filed a report in accordance with 10CFR Part 21.

After a detailed investigation, the architect-engineer identified 44 l' supports which utilize 1" diameter Ililti Kwik Bolt Anchors with an embedded length as reported by Hilti. These were the only supports utilizing 1"  :

diameter Hilti Bolts of embedment greater than 6D. Five supports required expansion anchor plate modifications; the remainder required no change. .
