H..ZIMMER NUCLEAR ~ POWER STATION - UNIT 1 10CFR50.55 (e), ITEM M-96, INDETERMINATE QUALIFICATION OF SUPPLIER PER ASME SECTION III W.O. 57300, JOB E-5590, FILE NO. 956C, M-96 This letter constitutes an interim report concerning the subject condition reported to the Commission on September 2, 1983, as a potentially reportable deficiency under 10CFR50.55 (e).

Our last report, LOZ-83-0167, was submitted on September 30, 1983.

i The audit of Cooperheat by H.J. Kaiser Company has been completed.

The results of this audit have determined that Cooperheat implemented a quality assurance program in September 1982.

All purchase orders issued to Cooperheat were dated prior to September, 1982.

H.J. Kaiser's Qu'ality-Assurance Department is in the process of performing an evaluation of the purchase orders to determine the_ acceptability of items procured from Cooperheat.

A report detailing the results of this evaluation and any identified corrective action will.be submitted by June 1, 1984.
