'This letter constitutes an interim report concerning the subject condition reported to the Commission on February 2, 1983.

This condition represents a reportable deficiency under 10CFR50. 55 (e) .

Our previous report, LOZ-83-0109, submitted August 26, 1983, stated the corrective actions reauired to resolve this condition

! included inspection and adjustment of all-Brown Boveri Electric (BBE) 4.16kV and 6.9kV circuit breakers-per the BBE Instruction J Bulletin IB-8303. However, upon inspection of some of the 4.16kV breakers, it was discovered that they did not all have lever stop i adjustments as shown in IB-8303. It was determined that the P instruction bulletin only addressed HK breaker types 7.5kV' through 15kv, 500'to 750 MVA, 5HK350-3000A and all HKV circuit breakers. A review of circuit breakers at Zimmer indicates'only g 25 of our breakers are of the type which potentially have the reported deficiency. BBE has not experienced any problems with the control devices on the other types of HK circuit breakers.

I Inspection and adjustment of the applicable circuit breakers is continuing. A final report will be submitted upon completion of the corrective actions.
