OF THE MAY 6, 2008, NON-PUBLIC MEETING TO DISCUSS APPARENT VIOLATIONS WITH THE POTENTIAL SIGNIFICANCE OF GREATER THAN GREEN AT KEWAUNEE POWER STATION

Dear Mr. Christian:

On May 6, 2008, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) held a Non-Public Meeting at the Region III Office, located at 2443 Warrenville Road, Lisle, Illinois. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss apparent violations with the potential security significance of Greater than Green.

Mr. Steve West, Director, Division of Reactor Safety, Region III, opened the meeting with an introduction of NRC officials, the reason for the meeting, and a restatement of the apparent violations.

Mr. Nelson Martin, Manager of Nuclear Fleet Protection Services, then led a presentation which provided your perspective on the overall security significance of the apparent violations, the corrective actions implemented and planned to address the apparent violations, and the status of your root cause analysis. We also discussed information necessary for the NRC to conduct a final assessment of the regulatory significance of the apparent violations.

Mr. West concluded the meeting by thanking your staff for coming to the Regional Office and for providing the information that was discussed at the meeting. He then acknowledged your staffs implemented and planned efforts to address the apparent violations.
