SUMMARY

OF THE MAY 26, 2011, PUBLIC MEETING TO DISCUSS THE KEWAUNEE POWER STATION END-OF-CYCLE PERFORMANCE ASSESSMENT FOR 2010 On May 26, 2011, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) held a public meeting at the Kewaunee Municipal Building in Kewaunee, Wisconsin. The meeting was between NRC representatives and Dominion Energy Kewaunee, Inc., representatives to discuss the NRCs 2010 End-of-Cycle Assessment of the Kewaunee Power Stations safety performance.

The results of that assessment were discussed in a letter to the licensee dated March 4, 2011, (ADAMS ML110620489).

The NRC began the meeting with an overview of the NRC, the NRCs Reactor Oversight Process (ROP), national ROP results, and the Action Matrix. This was followed by a summary of the NRCs assessment of Kewaunee performance in 2010. The NRCs meeting presentation slides can be found in ADAMS at ML111390409. A list of principal meeting attendees can be found in the attached enclosure.

Mr. Steven Scace, the Kewaunee site vice-president, provided the licensees perspective on the assessment, acknowledging the licensees position in the Licensee Response column of the NRCs Action Matrix. Mr. Scace also discussed the licensee's commitment to stay in the Licensee Response column. Additionally, Mr. Scace mentioned that although Dominion Energy is selling the plant, they have a continued commitment with the plant as long as they hold the license and will continue working to improve the facility.

After the business portion of the meeting, NRC representatives spoke with an individual from local media and a member of the public.
