OF THE JUNE 28, 2016, PUBLIC MEETING WITH DOMINION, INC. REGARDING LOAD DROP ANALYSIS FOR SPENT FUEL CASK HANDLING OPERATIONS AT KEWAUNEE POWER STATION

Background

On June 28, 2016, a Category 1 public meeting was held between U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff and representatives of Dominion, Inc. (the licensee) at NRC headquarters in Two White Flint North, 11545 Rockville Pike, Rockville, Maryland. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss pre-submittal of a license amendment request to revise the heavy load handling program as describe in the Kewaunee current licensing basis.

The meeting notice can be found in the Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) under Accession No. ML16167A082. A list of attendees is provided in .

Meeting On June 8, 2016, the NRC staff held a public meeting with Dominion, Inc. to discuss submittal of their license action request (LAR) regarding load drop analysis for spent fuel cask handling operations at Kewaunee Power Station. During the meeting, representatives from Dominion, Inc. gave a presentation on their strategy and timeline. The agenda and presentation are provided as Enclosure 2 and can be found in ADAMS at Accession No. ML16190A346.

During the meeting, Dominion, Inc. discussed the basis and need for the LAR and the proposed cask handling methods.
