Exemption from the Requirements of Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations, part 50, Section 50.54(w)(1) Concerning Insurance for Post-Accident Site Decontamination, dated April 3, 2015. (ML15033A245)
As required by 10 CFR 50.54, Conditions of licenses, paragraph, (w)(3), Kewaunee Solutions, Inc. (KS) is required to report the current levels and sources of insurance that demonstrates it possesses sufficient financial resources to stabilize and decontaminate a reactor and reactor station site in the event of an accident. In accordance with 10 CFR 50.54(w)(3), this report is required to be submitted to the NRC on or before April 1st of each year.
To satisfy the reporting requirements of 10 CFR 50.54(w)(3), KS is submitting the following status of nuclear property insurance currently maintained for the Kewaunee Power Station (KPS).
Facility Total Coverage Policy Number Kewaunee Power Station
$50 million A14/1018/2023/2 The insurance maintained is provided through an insurance policy purchased from European Mutual Association for Nuclear Insurance (EMANI).
The above insurance policy provides coverage that satisfies the criteria specified in 10 CFR 50.54(w). The coverage reflects an exemption from the requirements of 10 CFR 50.54(w)
Kewaunee Solutions KS-2024-007 Page 2 of 2 Kewaunee Power Station, N490 Highway 42, Kewaunee, WI 54216 regarding the amount of onsite property insurance. The exemption was granted by the NRC for the KPS facility as documented in Reference 1.
