SUMMARY

OF PUBLIC SCOPING MEETINGS CONDUCTED RELATED TO THE REVIEW OF THE BYRON NUCLEAR STATION, LICENSE RENEWAL APPLICATION (TAC NOS. MF1790 AND MF1791) The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff conducted environmental seeping meetings related to the review of the Byron Nuclear Station (Byron) license renewal application submitted by Exelon Generation Company, LLC (Exelon).

Two public meetings were conducted on August 20, 2013, at the Byron Forest Preserve District in Byron, IL. Approximately 60 people attended the meetings.

The attendees included members of the NRC staff, members of the public, representatives from Exelon, news media, and local government officials.

Public comments and questions were mainly focused on the license renewal process. A combined listing of attendees for both sessions is provided in Enclosure

1. Enclosure 2 is a copy of the meeting handouts including the slides used during the NRC's presentation.

Enclosures 3 and 4 contain the official corrected transcripts for the afternoon and evening meetings, respectively.
