OF MARCH 7, 2016, PUBLIC MEETING BETWEEN U.S.
NUCLEAR REGULATORY COMMISSION STAFF AND EXELON GENERATION COMPANY, LLC TO DISCUSS AN APPEAL OF A COMPLIANCE BACKFIT On March 7, 2016, a Category 1 public meeting was held between the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) and Exelon Generation Company, LLC (Exelon) at NRC Headquarters, One White Flint North, 11555 Rockville Pike, Rockville, MD 20852. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss Exelons appeal of a compliance backfit that was imposed on Braidwood and Byron Stations by letter dated October 9, 2015. Exelon appealed the compliance backfit by letter dated December 8, 2015. The backfit imposition letter, appeal letter, and related documentation are available in the Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) at Accession No. ML16043A318. The public meeting notice was issued on February 16, 2016, updated on March 3, 2016, and is available in ADAMS at Accession No. ML16063A158.

There were 10 Exelon representatives, 15 staff representatives, and 2 members of the public in attendance locally. At least 17 individuals attended via teleconference. A list of attendees is enclosed. The list of teleconference attendees only reflects those who confirmed their attendance either during or following the meeting.
The NRCs backfit review panel members, who were appointed specifically to review Exelons appeal, provided introductory remarks that included an overview of the backfit appeal process.
Exelon then presented information explaining their appeal of the compliance backfit and addressed questions and comments from the backfit review panel members. After the Exelon presentation was completed, and backfit review panel questions were addressed, members of the public were provided an opportunity to present questions and comments to the NRC.
