Gentlemen:
This letter consitutes an interim report concerning the subject condition reported to the Commission as a potentially reportable deficiency under 10CFR50.55(e) on December 8, 1982.
As stated in our December 8 report, the possibility exists that personnel may have performed inspections without the proper personnel qualifications per ANSI N45.2.6 (1978). The quality assurance programs controlling measures to en-sure that only qualified personnel performed inspections is also indeterminate.
These concerns are presently under investigation to establish their validity and determine if a reportable condition exists. This effort will be completed by March 15, 1983, at which time a follow-up report will be submitted.
We trust the above vill be found acceptable as an interim report under 10CFR50.55(e).
