This transmits the findings of the routine (1RC inspection conducted by Mr.
J. T. Shedlosky and Ms. A. A. Asars of the Haddam Neck Plant. No violations were
identified and no reply to this letter is required. The inspection findings have
been discussed with Mr. D. B. Miller of your staff.

During this inspection period, efforts to resolve two long-standing issues con-
tinued; these involved the Rod Position Indication and Service Water Systems. The
first issue concerns variations in the Rod Position Indication System which have
been associated with Reactor Coolant System temperature chai.ges. The second con-
cerns the determination and verification of the Service Water System Design Basis
with emphasis on temperature limitations and cooling water flow to the Containment
Air Recirculation Heat Exchangers. Resciutions to these issues will be followed
during future inspections.
