Vogtle Electric Generating Plant - Operating License Stage Environmental Report (OLSER)

Dear Ms. Miller:

We are preparing the Vogtle OLSER in a manner which will eliminate redundant information between the FSAR and OLSER. During our meeting of January 4, 1983 we discussed the draft NRC guidance document for the 7

preparation of OLSER's. This document encourages applicants to reference the FSAR for " demography, meteorology, hydrology, geology, radwaste systems, etc."

Except for specific references to the FSAR, the information in the following OLSER sections will be deleted:

(1) 2.3 Meteorology - Refer to FSAR 2.31 and 2.32 (2) 2.4.6 Groundwater - Refer to FSAR 2.4.13 (3) 2.5 Geology - Refer to FSAR 2.5.1 (4) 3.5.1, .2, .3, .4, .5 - Refer to FSAR 11.1, .2, .3, .4, .5 (5) 4.4 Exposure to Construction Workers - Refer to FSAR 12.4

! (6) 6.1.3 Air Monitoring - Refer to FSAR 2.3.3, .4, and .5 i

The detailed information requested in Regulatory Guide 4.2 for the above OLSER sections will be in the FSAR sections as noted. Furthermore, the data l requested in Appendix E to Regulatory Guide 4.2 will be in the FSAR. Thus, the information for this appendix will be addressed by appropriate references to more detailed FSAR sections.

These actions will eliminate duplication of information between the FSAR and OLSER and eliminate the need to amend two documents in response to changes necessitated as a result of design modificaticas, staff questions, etc.
