l ENCLOSURE V0GTLE ELECTRIC GENERATING PLANT - UNIT 1 TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION SPECIAL REPORT l-90-02 NUMBER OF STEAM GENERATOR TUBES PLUGGED DURING REFUELING OUTAGE 1R2 A. REQUIREMENT FOR REPORT This report is required in accordance with the Vogtle Electric Generating Plant Technical Specifications, Section 4.4.5.5. This section of the Technical Specifications requires that the number of tubes plugged in each steam generator be reported to the Commission in a Special Report pursuant to Specification 6.8.2 within 15 days following the completion of each inservice inspection of steam generator tubes.

B. NUMBER OF STEAM GENERATOR TUBES PLUGGED Inservice inspections of Unit 1 steam generator tubes were completed on March 11, 1990, during the second Unit I refueling outage. As a result of these inspections, four tubes in Steam Generator No. 2 were plugged. Only one of these tubes actually exceeded the plugging limit (i.e., 40% of nominal tube wall thickness) and was required to be plugged. The other three tubes did not excaed the plugging limit, but were plugged as a precautionary measure. No defective tubes were detected in Steam Generators 1, 3, and 4. Thereforo, no tubes were plugged in those steam generators.

Complete inspection results will be submitted by March 11,1991, in accordance with the requirements of Technical Specification 4.4.5.5b.
