Exercise Report of the November 15, 1983, Exercise of the Offsite Radiological Emergency Preparedness Plans for the Byron Nuclear Power Station Attached are two copies of the Exercise Report of the November 15, 1983, joint exercise of the offsite radiological emergency preparedness plans for the Byron Nuclear Power Station. Illinois State and Ogle and Winnebago Counties participated in the exercise. The report, dated January 9,1984, was prepared by Region V of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).

FEMA Region V staff will furnish a copy of this report to the State of Illinois and will request a schedule of actions for correction of deficiencies. As soon as we receive and analyze the State's response, we will send you the results.

Byron Nuclear Power Station Exercise Report Attached is the exercise report for the Byron Nuclear Power Station Exercise conducted November 15, 1983 .

The Exercise was evaluated under the procedural policy outlined in the August 5,1983 memorandum. The recently developed modular exercrit was used for the evaluation process.

FEMA Region V believes the State of Illinois and Ogle and Winnebago counties demonstration of off-site preparedness is adequate to provide reasonable assurance that appropriate measures can be taken to protect the public in the vicinity of the site in the event of a radiological emergency.

A due date for a schedule of a corrective actions must be established following your approval of the report and when the final copy is sent to the state.
