O'Reilly No.82-011 Puge Three October 27,.1982 DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF EVENT On September 30, 1982, the Station entered ; ode 3 with the Pressurizer Relier Tank Level Indication (LI-470A) inoperable at the Control Room Evacuation Panel. This indication is required by Technical Specification 3.3.3 5, " Remote Shutdown Instrumentation;" however, Specification 3 0.4 is not applicable.

PROBABLE CONSEQUENCES There were no adverse consequences. The plant had not yet achieved initial criticality, and the Technical Specification Action Statement was complied with.

CAUSE(S) 0F THE OCCURRENCE The cause of the occurrence was the fact that the transmitter would not calibrate properly. Investigation revealed that the amplifier and calibration circuit boards were defective, and the instrumment reference leg was not properly filled.

IMMEDIATE CORRECTIVE ACTIONS TAKEN Corrective action taken was to replace the defective circuit boards'and fill the reference leg. The instrument was recalibrated and returned to service on October 6, 1982.

ACTION TAKEN TO PREVENT RECURRENCE No further corrective action is plann;d.
