NRC INTEGRATED INSPECTION REPORT NO. 50-395/99-06
Dear Mr. Taylor:-
On September 11,1999, the NRC completed an inspection at your Virgil C. Summer Nuclear
Station. The enclosed report presents the results of that inspection.
~ During the six weeks covered by this inspection period, your conduct of activities at the Virgil C.
Summei facility was generally characterized by safety conscious operations, good maintenance
and radiological protection practices,' and engineering personnel addressing and resolving
emergent issues adequately.
Based on the results of this inspection, the NRC has determined that a violation of NRC
requirements occurred.' The violation is being treated as a Non-Cited Violation (NCV),
consistent with Appendix C of the Enforcement Policy. The NCV is described in the subject
inspection report. If you contest the violation or severity level of the NCV, you should provide a -
response within 30 days of the date of this inspection report, with the basis for your denial, to the
United States Nuclear Regulatory Commission, ATTN: Document Control Desk, Washington,
DC 20555-0001, with copies to the Regional Administrator, Region ll, the Resident inspector at
your facility and the Director, Office of Enforcement, United States Nuclear Regulatory
Commission, Washington, DC 20555-0001.
