The NRC's Office for Analysis and Evaluation of Operational Data (AE00) has recently completed an assessment of 39 Dresden, 21 Quad Cities and 30 LaSalle Licensee Event Reports (LERs) as part of the NRC's Systematic Appraisal of i

Licensee Performance (SALP). The LERs were found to be of barely acceptable quality for Dresden, of acceptable quality for Quad Cities and of above average quality for LaSalle based on the requirements of 10 CFR 50.73 and when compared to other facilities that have been evaluated using the same methodology.

We are providing a copy of AE00's assessment before we issue the SALP 5 reports

! so that you might be aware of these diverse findings between sites and take action to improve the overall quality of future LERs.

We request that you provide Region III with the actions you intend to take to improve the overall quality of future LERs.
