.a In accordance with the Atomic Energy Act of 1954, as amended, PACIFIC GAS AND ELECTRIC COMPINY (hereinafter called the Company) herein seeks from the UNITED STATES ATOMIC ENERGY COMMISSION (hereinafter called the Commission) a a Class 104 b. license to construct and operate a nuclear reactor as a part of Unit Number 1 of the Company's Bodega n

Bay Atomic Park. In support of this application the Company alleges as follows:

1. The Company, a California corporation, is an operatirg public utility engaged principally in the business of furni.3hing electric and gas service throughout most of northern and central California. The Company is not owned, controlled, or dominated by an alien, a foreign corporation, or a foreign government. The Company's address and the lo-cation of its principal executive offices is 245 Market Street, San Francisco 6, California. All of the Company's directors and principal officers are citizens of the United States. The names of the Company's principal officers, all

4. Based upon prices prevailing in the second quarter of 1961, it is estimated that the facility will cost approximately $58,826,000 to construct, and that the first l core fuel assemblies, including 10% spares, will cost approxi-1 mately $7,600,000. Operating costs based on equilibrium l

core fuel costs are~ estimated at approximately $14,117,000 per year, at 90% capacity factor, after the facility is V

internal sources, principally unappropriated earnings and i provisions for depreciation; (iii) short term bank loans l'

6. The Company will provide and maintain financial protection for public liability in accordance with 10 CFR Part 140 and will sign an indemnity agreement with the Com-mission covering excess liability gs provided in 10 CFR Part 140.

9 It is requested that the Commission incorporate within the license and/or construction permit issued in re-sponse to this application provisions designating the quan-tities of special nuclear material available for use in
