Attached are proposed license amendments for Facility Operating Licenses NPF-9, NPF-17, NPF-35, and NPF-52 for McGuire Nuclear Station Units 1 and 2, and Catawba Nuclear Station Units 1 and 2 respectively. The proposed changes to the Tech-nical Specifications seek to allow credit to be taken for radiation monitor EMF-36 (unit vent monitor) if EMF-39 (on the containment purge system) is inoperable below Mode 4 (hot shutdown).

Attachment 1 contains the proposed changes to the McGuire Technical Specifica-tions: Attachment 2 contains the changes to Catawba's Technical Specifications.

Attachment 3 contains the Justification and Safety Analyses in support of the proposed changes for McGuire Nuclear Station, Attachment 4 contains the Justification and Safety Analysis in support of the proposed changes for Catawba Nuclear Station: each Justification and Safety Analysis includes an analysis conforming to the standards contained in 10CFR 50.92 as required by 10CFR 50.91 which concludes that the proposed amendments do not involve any Significant Hazards Considerations.

This request involves one application for amendment to McGuire's Technical Speci-fications and one application for amendment to Catawba's Technical Specifications.

Accordingly, pursuant to 10CFR 170.21, two checks for $150.00 are enclosed.
