Dear Mr. Congel:

Enclosed is a copy of the remedial exercise report of the June 14, 1989, remedial exercise shich corrected the deficiency identified at the Lower Potts7rsvc Tcwnship Emergency Operations Center (EOC) during the Limerick offsite radiological emergency preparedness exercise conducted on April 5, 1988.

The one deficiency resulted because the overall response capability demonstrated by Lower Pottsgrove Township was not adequate to ensure that the health and safety of the residents could be protected. Although.the Montgomery County responsc staff simulated taking appropriate actions for the municipality, the Zower Pottsgrove Township (EOC) was never properly staffed.

Based.o!. the results of the April 5, 1988, full-participation exercise h4.4 the June 14, 1989, remedial exercise, the offsite radiological smergency. preparedness for the Limerick Generating Station is adequcte to provide reasonable assurance that appropriate measures can be taken to protect the hcnith and safety of the public in the event of an accident.

If you should have any questions, please contact Craig S. dingo, Chief, Technological Hazards Division, at 646-3026.
