Dear Sir / Madam:

This letter provides the objectives for the Limerick Gens" 1g Station (LGS), Units 1 and 2,1999 Emergency Preparedness Exercise. The exercise is sue bled to be conducted on September 14,1999. This exercise is a biennial full participation exercise which involves participation from offsite emergency response agencies. This information is being submitted 90 days prior to the scheduled exercise date in accordance with an NRC letter to PECO Energy Company dated

- August 9,1989, regarding the submittal of " Emergency Exercise Objectives and Scenario Guidelines."

The Emergency Prepa 9dness Exercise objective information attached to this letter is of a

- confidential nature and is not for public disclosure. The August 9,1989, letter identifies which individuals should receive copies of the exercise objective information. However, based on discussions with NRC Region I representatives concerning the submittal of exercise objective and scenario information, the objectives for the LGS 1999 Emergency Preparedness Exercise will only be distributed to those individuals involved in evaluating this exercise.

Mr. Richard Z. Kinard, Manager, Emergency Preparedness has been designated as your interface for this emergency exercise. Please forward all future correspondence conceming this exercise to him at the address identified below.-
