NRC INTEGRATED INSPECTION REPORT 50-352/99-05,50-353/99-05

Dear Mr. Rainey:

On August 16,1999, the NRC completed an inspection at your Limerick Generating Station,

Units 1 and 2. Resident inspectors reviewed routine activities and regionalinspectors reviewed

aspects of your maintenance and emergency preparedness programs. The enclosed report

presents the results of this inspection.

We concluded that your staff continued to ooerate both units safely. Your operators responded

well to plant challenges caused by the extei.

Based on the results of this inspection, the NRC has determined that one violation of NRC

requirements occurred. The violation related to inoperability of the automatic depressurization

system during maintenance. This violation is being treated as a Non-Cited Violation (NCV),

consistent with Appendix C of the Enforcement Policy. The NCV are described in the subject

inspection report. If you contest the violation or severity level of the NCV, you should provide a

response within 30 days of the date of this inspection report, with the basis for your denial, to the

Nuclear Regulatory Commission, ATTN: Document Control Desk, Washington DC 20555-0001,

with a copies to the Regional Administrator, Region I, and the Director, Office of Enforcement,

United States Nuclear Regulatory Commission, Washington, DC 20555-0001 and the NRC

resident at the Limerick Generating Station.

In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790 of the NRC's " Rules of Practice," a copy of this letter, its

enclosure (s), and your response will be placed in the NRC Public Document Room (PDR).
