Subject: Inspection Report No. 50-219/85-38

This refers to the routine resident safety inspection by Messrs. W. Bateman,
J. Wechselberger and R. Urban from December 2,1985 to January 5,1986 at the
Oyster Creek Nuclear Generating Station. The inspection consisted of document
- reviews, interviews, and observations of activities as~ documented in the
enclosed inspection report. The findings were discussed with you and other
members of your staff at the conclusion of the inspection.
Within the scope of this inspection, no violations were identified.
This letter acknowledges a change in your commitment date to complete corrective
action to address a concern raised in Inspection Report 84-09 involving failure
to specify angular tolerance criteria for pipe support installations. During
this report period, you informed us that you need an additional six months,
beyond your previous commitment of December 1985, to complete work on the design
standards. This is the third revision of the original March 1, 1985 commitment
date. We accept your new date of June 1986, but do not anticipate granting
additional extensions.
