ROBERT J SCRIBNER Staff Dirntor

"^"*""""' The Staff of the Missouri Public Service Commission has

'""'"' learned that you will be making a site visit to the Wolf Creek Generating Station on May 10 and will be meeting with KENT M. RAGSDALE representatives of Kansas Gas and Electric Company (KGE) and cennaic un I Kansas City Power and Light Company (KCPL) .

The Missouri Public Service Commission is an " interested state agency" participant in the above-referenced proceeding under 10 CFR 2. 715 (c) pursuant to its jurisdiction over KCPL which owns a 47% share of Wolf Creek and the Commission's statutory authority (Chapters 386 and 393 Revised Statutes of Missouri 1978) for the regulation of investor owned electric utilities operating in this State.

In the past during visitations of high ranking Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) officials to Wolf Creek, members of Staff normally accompany the NRC during the visit for purposes of keeping the Staff and Commission up-to-date on NRC licensing activities and the progress of plant completion, as we did during the recent site visit at Callaway and Wolf Creek by NRC Commissioner Asselstine. (See enclosures).

We would like to send a member of Staff to Wolf Creek to accompany you on your visit to the facility unless it is against NRC Rules or policy. If you have any objections, please advise in writing before May 9. In any event, someone from Staff will be in Fulton, Missouri at Westminister College O
