Dear Mr. Novak:

The Illinois Department of Nuclear Safety has reviewed the subject proposed exemption and has concluded that an Updated Final Safety Analysis Report (UFSAR) should be issued for Byron on or before February 14, 1988, as a firm date, regardless of any Braidwood 2 operation delay.

This matter was discussed with Mr. Leonard Olshan on June 27, 1985 by Robert Minue.
