REQUEST FOR REllEF FROH INSERVICE INSPECTION REQUIREMENTS FOR PEACH BOTTOM ATOMIC POWER STATION, UNITS 2 AND 3 (TAC N05. H79254 AND M79255)

By letter dated November 15, 1990, Philadelphia Electric Company (PECo) provided a revised edition of the " Inservice Inspection (ISI) Program Second Ten Year Interval' for Peach Bottom Atomic Power Station, Units 2 and 3. In the letter, PECo submitted 17 relief requests for information or review and approval. Nine of the relief requests were new, six were revised and two were unchanged, in a letter dated March 19, 1992, the licensee withdrew relief request RR-07 and further revised five relief requests. By letter dated April 16, 1992, PEco provided an additional relief request revision.

The NRC staff (the staff) has completed its evaluation of the subject relief requests. The staff has concluded that, pursuant to 10 CFR 50.55a(g)(6)(1),

certain requirements of the Code are impractical to )erform at Peach Bottom Atomic Power Station, Units 2 and 3, and relief may >e granted for the issues described in Requests for Relief Nos. RR-02, RR-03, RR-08, RR-11, RR-13, RR-15, RR-16 and RR-17 with the conditions stated in Section 2 of the enclosed safety evaluation. Relief remains granted for issues described in Requests for Relief Nos. RR-01, RR-04, RR-05, RR-06, RR-09, and RR-10. The staff determined that Request for Relief No. RR-14 was not required. Request for Relief No. RR-12 is denied for reasons described in the safety evaluation, s
