((

The one year delay, primarily caused by the Calvert Cliffs decisica and AEC regulatory g

process,.in plant conpletion has already j

increased the total capital investment of

{

the unit by approxinetely $14 million.

This capital cost increase vill result in addi-j l

tional revenue requirements to cover fixed l

charges during the lifetime of the unit, l

l

}

I The additional cost of generatica incurred by the CCD companics. as a direct result of delaying the in-service date of the Zimmer Unit from 1975 to 1976 is estimated to be 3

t

$16.9 million, measured at 1976 cost levels.

{

This makes the cost to the CCD companies, as

)

a result of delays to date, a total of $30.9 million, $14 million of which is additional l

costs to the Zimmer Project and $16.9 million i

of which is added operating and other construc-tion costs made necessary by tha delay.

l.

If site activities roguested arc not completed during the construction season cf 1972, the in-o i

service date will be delayed beyond the first quarter of 1977 and the additional costs g

resulting from delays vill amount to in excess of $2 million a month.

i "y

Any delay of the in-service date will result in Clermont County, Uashington Township, and the New Richmond Schecl Distric: losing a substantial amount of property tax revenues.

I Presently the unemployment late in Clermont County is 14.5 0.

The construction schedule indicates that over 1200 craft cnployees will be required during the peak of ccnctructirn.

Man;. of the craf t empicyees will be from

.o Clermont County area.
