A ' review was made of Traveler Card Set No. 600A, starting with sequence 87 (release of the RPV for hydrostatic testing .

Sequence- 88A related to performance of the overpressure) test and 1ncluded inspection at design pressure. Sequence 88C related to inspection for 0 ring leakage at design pressur The balance of the sequence steps reviewed, related to MI, PT, and visual inspection of the exterior and interior surfaces of the vessel and closure head. All of the co:pleted sequence steps were identified by procedure nmnber and were signed and i dated by CBIN, GE, and the Code Inspector (wbere applicable) . Inspection Reports (1) llydrost31_c Test

_

A review of the hydrostatic test data report, dated June 2, 1973, for contract No. 69-5571 (Zimmer Unit No.1) establishe?

that

'

the overload pressure test and inspection at design pressure, in additicn to the 0 ring leakage test, met the test requirements of 1563 psig and 1250 psig, respectively, with i

the vessel metal tc:perature at 1000 maximu F minitum and 180 F The certification portion of the report fer the code requirements was signed by the Code Inspector, and the 0 ring leakage test inspector portion was signed by the CblS QC i

(2) NDT Reports

' Selected post hydre !OT reports (MT and PT) were reviewed which represented examination of certain vesso.1 areas and pressure retaining velds in the vesse All of the reports

.

An examination was made of 33 out of the 62 Mtal coverage RT films of the f.inal closure girth seam between the No. I shell ring of the lower assembly and .the No. 2 ring of the upper assembly. The films were selected to sample the entire weld. The filns were made by panoramic RT techniques, using a 800-curie. cobalt 60 source. The

filts. exhibited code quality technique. No unacceptable veld defects were identified on either the films or the reader sheet. The reader sheet was cigaed and dated by CBIN, GE, and the Code Inspecto . Final Strese Relief-Records A re' view was made of the total accumulated hours of stress relief for the material in the No.1 and No. 2 shell ringst affected by the localized atress relief of the closure girth veld, in addition to the balance of welded -assemblies. During a prior' inspection of the Zimmer Unit No. I vessel fabrication, the inspector had established that th. ? BIN method for fina'l stress relief was to sequencia11y stress relief the weld secms in the vessel subassemblies, as the welding was completed. The total hours of stress relief for No.1 and No. 2 rings, and the balance of subassembly materials, was determined to be within the qualification time of 50 hours5.787037e-4 days <br />0.0139 hours <br />8.267196e-5 weeks <br />1.9025e-5 months <br /> for both .
