UNIl' 2 WIDE IIANGE NOllLE G AS MONITOlt SPECIAld(EPORT On July 16, IWI, the Unit 2 Wide Range Noble Gas hionitor (WRNGM) was taken out of service ,

for primary calibration. Technical Specification 3.3.3.1 ACTION Statement b, Table 3.3-6, Action i 30, was entered. An alternate method of monitoring appropriate paramet'; s was initiated within 72 hours8.333333e-4 days
0.02 hours
1.190476e-4 weeks
2.7396e-5 months
. This evolution was planned for 10-14 days because of the time required for the primary calibration procedure, fiased on the results of the primary calibration,it was determined that the low range detector required corrective maintenance. The WRNOM will be returned to service when the required parts, which have been ordered, are received and rebuilding is complete. Primary recalibration is scheduled to be completed approximately August 30, lW1.

Technical Specification 3.3.3.1 ACFION Statement b, Table 3.3-6, Action 30-2 states that if the WRNGM is not restored to OPERABLE status within 7 days, a Special Report pursuant to Technical Specification 6.9.2 must be prepared and submitted to the Commission outlining the actions taken, the cause of the inoperability, and the plans and schedule for restoring the system to OPERABLE status, This Special Report fulfills these requirements.
