Asaresultofourreviewoftheadditiooalinformation,wehahe concluded that the Palo Verde.4 and 5 Environmental Report is now acceptable for docketing. Your filing of the Environmental Report l

and any amendments thereof.should include forty-one (41) copies.

l As required by 10 CFR 50.40, you should retain an additional one i

hundred nine (109) copies for direct distribution in accordance with the enclosure to th'is letter and further instructions which might be provided later. Within ten days after docketing, you must provide an affidavit that distribution in accordance with the enclosure has been completed.

Pursuant to 10 CFR Part 50.10(e)(1) the Director of Nuclear Reactor Regulation may grant a Limited.Wo'rk Authorization after suitable findings l

on NEPA and site suitability matters from the assigned licensing board.

Accordingly, you are requested to. furnish a description of the activities within the scope authorized.by 50.10(e)(1) that you plan to undertake I under such an authorization. This description.should include the schedule for implementation of such activities. To permit timely processing, this information should be submitted within 45 days of receipt of this letter.

If, during the course of our review, you believe there is a need to f appeal a staff position because of disagreement, this need should be 75W@# r

appropriate meeting can be arranged on a timely basis.. A written request is not necessary and all such requests should be initiated through our Environmental Project Manager assigned to the review of your application. This procedure is an informal one designed to allow opportunity for applicants to discuss with management areas of disagreement in the case review.
