SAFETY EVALUATION FOR GENERIC LETTER 83-28, ITEM 4.5.2 (REACTOR TRIP SYSTEM RELIABILITY-0N-LINE TESTING) FOR MAINE YANKEE ATOMIC POWER STATION You were required by Generic Letter 83-28 Item 4.5.2 to confirm.that your plant is designed to permit periodic on-line testing of the Reactor Trip System and, if not, to justify not making modifications to permit such testing.
Your response states that the plant is designed to permit the required periodic on-line testing.
The review of the response, as documented in the contractor's report (EG&G-NTA-7463), finds your response acceptable.
The appropriate section of the contractor's report is attached to the staff's enclosed Safety Evaluation (SE).
The SE documents our concurrence with the contractor's findings and also finds your response for this item to be acceptable.
We therefore consider Item 4.5.2 to be closed by this action.
Item 4.5.3 of Generic Letter 83-28 will be reviewed separately.
