national security or public interest significance. The information presented is as initially received without verification or evaluation and is basically all that is known by IE staff as of this date.

Subject:

BOMB THREAT AT CONSTRUCTION SITE i

A bomb threat was phoned into the Construction Superintendent Thursday I (7-1-76) at 1:43 p.m. (CDT) by a male saying a bomb was placed on site to go off during the second shift.

Day shift personnel were evacuated and 2nd shift personnel were told of the threat. A search was made; no bomb was found and none exploded.

The FBI has been notified. Local police departments were not notified by W the licensee. A press release has not been made by the licensee or NRC.

Region II (Atlanta) received notification of this occurrence by telephone l

./ at 3:45 p. m. on July 1,1976, from the Quality Assurance Supervisor at the Farley construction site.

Additional Information The teamsters, iron workers, operating engineers and electrical craf t union contracts expired 6-30-76.

The electrical workers have agreed to work while their contract is being negotiated. The other 3 crafts are on strike. The plant is not being picketed. Contract negotiations are continuing.
