Dear Mr. Miraglia:
As a result of discussions with your staff, additional information was requested to provide sufficient detail on the SPDS. Pursuant to this request, Attachment 1 provides a copy of the SPDS block diagram. In addition, the staff is requested to docket the documents listed in Attachment 2. These were provided to the staff during the October 26-28, 1987 audit.
A telephone call with your staff on December 3,1987 indicated that clarification of the seismic qualification of the SPDS was necessary to complete your review. Attachment 3 provides additional information on the seismic qualification of the SPDS components. It is our understanding that this information is sufficient to provide the clarification requested by your
- staff.
In our letter dated November 20, 1987, the District indicated it would provide the first quarterly performance report 3 months after full power operation.
It is our understanding that the staff would rather have the first report 3 months after reactor criticality. Accordingly, the District will submit the first quarterly SPDS performance report consistent with the requested schedule.
