q the plant was shut down on June 7, 1989. Golden State Energy had been negotiating with the District to buy Rancho Seco until the Board of Directors rejected the GSE offer on September 11, 1989.

The District is currently j

working towards permanently closing the plant.

The District requests permission to submit the next amendment to the Updated Safety Analysis Report with-the decommissioning plan submittal. This extension will allow the District to incorporate the plant closure status in the USAR update thereby more accurately reflecting plant conditions.

Subsequent amendments would be submitted at twelve month intervals from that date as required.
