TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS FOR FIRE DETECTION CGrimes AND SPRAY SYSTEMS DKubicki Re: Haddam Neck Plant The Commission has issued the enclosed Amendment No. 75 to Facility Operating License No. DPR-61 for the Haddam Neck Plant. This amendment is in response to your application dated February 21, 1986.

This amendment incorporates three new fire protection systems, which are req 11 red to protect safe shutdown equipment, into the Haddam Neck Plant technical specifications. These fire protection systems include the directional spray water suppression system in the cable-spreading area hallway, the water curtain-type spray system in the area of the service water pumps and two early warning fire detectors in the auxiliary feedwater puttp room.

, A Notice of Consideration of Issuance of Amendment to License and Proposed No Significant Hazards Consideration Determination and Opportunity for Hearing _related to the requested action was published in the Federal Register on March 26, 1986 (51 FR 10455). No comments or requests for hearing were received.

A copy of our related Safety Evaluation is enclosed. This action will appear in the Commission's biweekly notice publication in the Federal Register.
