Attached is Toledo Edison's response to John F. Stolz's letter to Joe Williams, Jr. " Request for Additional Information: Motor Operated Valves" dated March 11, 1986, Log No. 1926. The information included in this submittal resolves all open questions regarding the Davis-Besse program for maintenance and testing of nuclear safety-related motor operated valves.

This response will be included in Revision 8 of the Davis-Besse Course of Action (COA).

Toledo Edison has identified the most limiting opening and closing require-i ments (pressure differential and/or flow rate)-for all torque seated.

nuclear safety related (NSR) motor operated valves (MOVs), attached. This includes all valves considered for confirmatory testing against their most

( limiting operational requirement.

The remaining most limiting opening and closing requirements for position seated MOVs (i.e. butterfly, dampers, etc.) is still in the preparation and review process.

This process is being performed in accordance with Nuclear Engineering Procedure NEP-092, attached. The summary list of limiting requirements developed using methodology in NEP-092, for all NSR-MOVs, will be completed prior to restart.
