SUBJECT:

PROPOSED AMENDMENT 125, REVISION 1 Rancho Seco Unit 1 shutdown March 15, 1985 for a scheduled 90 day outage. The work performed included refueling for Cycle 7, major overhaul of the turbine generator system, feedwater heater repairs, once through steam generator in-spections, feedwater flow nozzle repairs, numerous TMI modifications, Appendix R modifications, upgrading equipment for the EQ program, and several other minor plant repairs and modifications.

Due to the exceptional performance of plant personnel, a very effective schedul-ing program and the ability to resolve problems quickly, the outage schedule progressed ahead of the planned duration.

The original startup schedule was planned for June 15, 1985. The present schedule has plant heatup on June 5th and core criticality on June 7th. This is slightly one week ahead of the schedule planned prior to shutdown on March 15, 1985.

With the impending summer heat load and economics to prevent purchases of oil generated capacity, Rancho Seco should be put on-line as soon as possible.

Since the plant has been modified and the modification involved Technical Speci-fication changes, the approval of Proposed Amendment No. 125, Revision 1 is required prior to criticality, ourpromp$responsewillbemostappreciatedinthismatter.
