Special Report 08-92 Trojan Technical Specification (TTS) 3/4.7.9, " Penetration Fire Barriers",

requires, in part, the submittal of a Special Report if a nonfunctional three-hour fire barrier penetration protecting safety-related areas is not restored to functional status within seven days. Fire Door No. 288 was blocked open from December 9, 1992 to December 30, 1992 in support of maintenance activities. This report is submitted to fulfill the reporting requirements of TTS 3/4.7.9.

Fire Door No. 288 is located in the South side of the Electrical Penetration Area (EPA) Shield Wall (Room 358, Fire Area E1) at Elevation 45 feet between the Containment Building and.the Turbine

. Building. This door was. blocked open on December 9, 1992 to allow eddy current cable access to the EPA and-Containment Building to conduct steam. (

generator tube inspections. This was.a planned evolution expected to be in effect for more-than seven days. TTS 3/4.7.9 requirements for verifying the operability of fire detectors on at least one side of the barrier and establishing an hourly fire patrol were met while the door was blocked open.
